(PEMBROKE, ON) – On the evening of February 13, 2017 members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Pembroke St. West in the City of Pembroke after a Highway Traffic Act (HTA) violation was observed. The driver of the vehicle was found to be under the influence of alcohol and as a result 34 year old Ashlie ELLIS of Powassan, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offence:
Driving with More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Her Blood
In addition to the CC charge she was also charged under the HTA and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA) with the following offences:
Fail to use lower beam – oncoming HTA
Fail to notify change of address – license HTA
Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle HTA
Fail to have insurance card CAIA
She was released on a Promise To Appear for the Over 80mgs charge and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 21, 2017.
