The Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Prescott Detachment will once again be hiring 2 youths for the Youth in Policing Initiative, (YIPI).
This 8 week job position requires the successful candidates to work various shifts throughout the summer period.
Successful candidates will report to the Prescott OPP detachment and be assigned various duties for the day, which may include working the OPP fundraising BBQ in Kemptville, assisting at the Prescott Food For all Food Bank, Fort Henry, Prescott Public Works and the Shakespeare Festival.
Successful candidates will gain valuable work experience in a variety of community organizations and gain insight into the roles and responsibilities of a Police Officer. If youth are interested in a future career in policing, this position will assist you in a better understanding of police duties, responsibilities and qualifications.
Location of Employment: Ontario Provincial Police Detachment, 200 Development Drive, Prescott.

Objective:
Provide work experience and life skills training to youth between the ages of 15-18
To provide an opportunity for youth to gain an overall understanding of the diverse work opportunities with the police service.
Develop mentorship relationships between youth and the OPP staff.
Provide an opportunity for youth to develop resume, job application and interview skills.
