(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On March 25, 2017 at 4:25 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police were on patrol on Highway 69 at Pointe Au Baril. An officer observed a vehicle travelling at a rate of speed higher than that of the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was conducted.
As a result of the investigation;
Shawn LATOUR, 42 years of age from Barrie, Ontario, was arrested and charged with;
Driving With More Than 80mgs of alcohol, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
Speeding, contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act
Novice Driver – B.A.C. Above Zero, contrary to section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on April 20, 2017.
