Suspended Drunk Driver From Chatsworth Arrested – Name Released

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On March 24, 2017, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver after a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck left the roadway and crashed into some brush on the 4th Concession A near Baseline Road in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Police attended the scene and found that the driver of the vehicle had been drinking alcohol. Several empty beer cans and bottles were observed inside the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released back into police custody. A 32-year old male passenger from Melancthon Township was not injured.

53-year old Dave NEWMAN, of the Township of Chatsworth, was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80 milligrams. He was also issued a Part III Summons for driving while under suspension.

He is scheduled to appear in Court in Owen Sound on April 6, 2017.
