(TAY TOWNSHIP) – On Tuesday March 28, 2017 at approximately 2:05 a.m. an Officer from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police observed a motor vehicle driving erratically on Highway 12 in Tay Township, ON. The motor vehicle was subsequently stopped in the area of Reeves Road Tay Township, ON. The motor vehicle then sped away before the officer could speak to the driver.
Police stopped the motor vehicle a short time later on William Street in the Town of Midland. As a result of their investigation, police arrested and charged the male driver, Quinton David BAPTISTE (age 26) of Midland, Ontario with:
Care or Control Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Driving While Ability Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused received an immediate 90 day driver’s licence suspension and further had his vehicle towed and impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 13, 2017 in Midland, ON.
