(LAMBTON, ON) – On Friday March 24th, 2017 at just before 7:00 p.m. the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a single vehicle, motor vehicle collision on Lakeshore Road, Municipality of Lambton Shores.
Lambton OPP along with Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Municipality of Lambton Shore Fire Department responded to the area of Lakeshore road and Northville Road. Upon arrival, OPP located a single vehicle in the west ditch and a lone female sitting near the ditch. EMS examined the female, who was identified as the driver, and determined that no injuries were sustained as a result of the collision.
Through the course of the investigation, OPP formed the opinion that the driver of the motor vehicle was impaired due to the consumption of alcoholic beverages. The female driver was arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP – Grand Bend Detachment for breath testing which resulted in reading more than twice the legal limit.

The accused will appear in the Sarnia Ontario Court of Justice on Monday May 1st, 2017.
The OPP is again reminding drivers that any amount of alcohol or other drugs can impair one’s ability to drive. Impaired driving remains the leading cause of criminal death in Canada.
