(BARRIE, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Technological Crime Unit and the Nottawasaga Detachment have arrested and charged an Essa Township, Ontario man following an on-line undercover child pornography investigation initiated by the Greater Sudbury Police Service.
On April 5, 2017, police executed a search warrant at an Essa Township residence. As a result of this investigation, four computers and external media were seized which contained images of child sexual abuse.
On April 5, 2017, police arrested Thomas Arthur Reid, 61 years-old of Essa Township, Ontario. He is charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography, two count of Make Available Child Pornography and two count of Accessing Child Pornography. The accused will appear on April 17, 2017 in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford, Ontario.
