(GUELPH, ON) – On April 8, 2017 at approximately 12:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E program on Highway 6 near College Avenue in the City of Guelph. A 2016 Jeep Cherokee entered the R.I.D.E. program and officers believed the male driver had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
47-year-old Matthew KACUR of Toronto has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 9, 2017. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
