(North Dundas) – Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently at the scene of a two (2) vehicle collision on County Road 31 (north of Winchester Springs), North Dundas Township.
Preliminary investigation has indicated that at approximately 12:51pm, a passenger vehicle (Mini Cooper) was travelling south on County Road 31 when, for reasons under investigation, crossed into the north lane and collided head-on with a transport truck (milk tanker). The adult male driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin. The truck driver was not injured.
SD&G OPP, assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) continue to process the scene. A section of County Road 31, between Nesbitt Road and Hollister Road is closed to traffic with indicated detours in place.
