Woman Held For Bail After Attempting To Defraud Bank

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On April 7, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call that a woman was attempting to open a bank account using false identification at a bank on St Andrew street west, in the town of Fergus.

OPP attended and spoke with staff and the suspect. Investigation revealed that the suspect was attempting to open an account with false identification and forged documents.

Further investigations revealed the woman had done the same at four other banks in Wellington County in the last month.

55 year old, Mary-Jean CAMPBELL previously of the Toronto area was charged with six counts of Obtaining Credit Under False Pretences and 12 counts of Using Forged Documents contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and held for bail.

CAMPBELL was using the aliases of Tara Jean MILLER”
