15 Speeders Caught On Hwy 402

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – Speeding and distracted driving remain leading causes of motor vehicle collisions and fatalities on OPP-patrolled roads.

On April 14, 2017, between approximately 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted speed enforcement on Highway 402 at Glendon Drive, in the Municipality of Strathroy Caradoc, Ontario.

Fifteen drivers were charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with speeding for travelling at 129 kilometers per hour (km/h) or more in the 100 km/h zone.

Additionally in the County, three drivers were charged with using a hand-held communication device, contrary to the HTA. Middlesex County OPP will continue to apply a combination of public education and targeted enforcement to change aggressive driving behaviour and enhance traffic safety.
