(MATTAWA, ON) – On April 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. members of the North East Region Community Street Crime Unit, North Bay Detachment Crime Unit and the North East Region Emergency Response Team attended a Park Street address in Mattawa to execute a search warrant.
During the search, over 300 marihuana plants, grow equipment, ammunition and a firearm were seized.
As a result of the investigation, 27 year old Bruce MCCUE, and 29 year old Rebecca DOAN, both from Mattawa, have been charged with:
• Produce schedule II substance, Cannabis Marihuana contrary to section 7(1) of the controlled drug and substance act (CDSA).
• Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking under 3 kilograms – Cannabis Marihuana contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA.
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the criminal code of Canada (CC).
• Careless storage of a firearm contrary to section 86(1) of the CC.
They are both scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Mattawa on May 10, 2017.
