(IGNACE, ON) – On April 27, 2017 shortly after 4:00 p.m. the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Ignace Detachment members responded to a report of person being struck by a Canadian Pacific Railway train in ILSLEY Township which is approximately 20 km West of Ignace.
Upon Police arrival the involved person was found to be deceased.
A post mortem examination will be held in Toronto to confirm positive identification of the deceased person and to allow for notification of next of kin.
The Ignace OPP, Northwest Region Crime Unit and Canadian Pacific Railway Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident, but foul play is not suspected at this time.
