(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On May 9, 2017, at approximately 4:49 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a crash on Highway 401 eastbound, near Westchester Bourne, where a single motor vehicle entered the south ditch and collided with the centre post of a large road sign.
Officers determined that the 31-year-old male driver of the black Ford sport utility vehicle (SUV) had been drinking alcohol. He was transported a Middlesex County OPP detachment for drug recognition tests.
As a result of the police investigation, Brandon WICKS, from London, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (drug), contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on June 8, 2017.
