(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment has charged a 28-year-old male with several offences after police stopped a motor vehicle at a Queensway West, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Saturday, June 3, 2017 at approximately 8:07 p.m., officers were on patrol in the area of Hillcrest Road when police observed a motor vehicle that appeared to be travelling at a high rate of speed northbound on Hillcrest Road.
The motor vehicle ran through radar and recorded a reading approximately two times over the posted 60 km/h zone. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and investigated at a Queensway West address. The male driver was also found to be approximately three (3) times over the legal limit.
As a result of investigation, police have charged 28-year-old Matthew John Urquhart MACKAY with the following offences:
Impaired driving
Driving over the legal limit
Race a motor vehicle – excessive speed
Having liquor in open container other than licenced premise, residence, or private place
Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
Fail to surrender insurance card
