(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) -On Saturday August 5, 2017 at 7:00 a.m., a Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a northbound 2003 silver Nissan Maxima, which appeared to be operating above the speed limit on 6 Highway near Sheppard Lake Road, in the Township of South Bruce Peninsula. The vehicle speed was locked in at 172 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone. There were three other occupants in the vehicle.
A 30-year-old female driver from London, Ontario, has been charged with race a motor vehicle. Police seized and impounded the vehicle for seven days and her driver’s licence has been suspended for 7 days. She is scheduled to appear at the Owen Sound Court of Justice on September 18, 2017 to answer to the charge.
