(COUNTY of BRANT, ON) – A member of the County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a single vehicle collision on August 9, 2017 at approximately 5:00 p.m. on King Edward Street in the County of Brant.
Police attended and located the white 2017 Honda HRV and determined through investigation that the driver had been drinking alcohol and the female driver was arrested.
OPP investigators have charged 30-year-old Joanna SMITH of Oro- Medonte Township, Ontario with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in her blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date to answer to the charge. If convicted, the offender will be subject to the Criminal Code penalties, including a fine or jail time, and a driving prohibition
