(TOWNSHIP of MAPLETON, ON) – On Wednesday August 30, 2017 at approximately 7:00 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, near Rothsay. The officer observed a male driving a 2004 Dodge pickup at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
51-year-old John Henry DeKLEIN of Puslinch has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on November 1, 2017.Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
