(TOWNSHIP of CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On Friday August 11, 2017 at approximately 12:30 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, near Ponsonby. The officer observed a male driving a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. Further investigation revealed the driver did not possess a valid driver’s licence.
36-year-old Billie Joe COMEAU of Cambridge has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle and Drive No Licence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on September 20, 2017.Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
