(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – Around 4:00p.m. a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a traffic stop on an unlicensed driver on the 401 Highway between Highbury Road and Veteran’s Memorial Highway, east bound lanes.
During this time, an east bound transport truck failed to move over for the stopped police vehicle. The transport truck sideswiped the driver’s side of the police vehicle causing significant damage.
The officer was inside the vehicle at the time of the collision and sustained minor injuries. London-Middlesex Paramedics attend the scene and transported the officer to a nearby hospital.
The transport truck pulled over after the collision and police are continuing their investigation. The slow lane remains closed to facilitate the completion of this investigation and to remove the damaged police vehicle.
