(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A 27-year-old from Huron-Kinloss is facing charges for using counterfeit money following a police investigation that took place earlier in September.
On September 17th, 2017 around 12:30 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the Shell gas station located on Huron Road after learning a male had just passed a suspected counterfeit bill. Upon arrival, police located and arrested the male suspect at the nearby Canadian Tire gas bar.
As a result of further investigation police determined the male purchased items using US counterfeit currency at six different businesses located at the Walmart shopping plaza. Police also learned the male was currently serving a probation sentence when he committed these offences.
As a result, Kyle SWEENEY-GREER, 27 years of age, from Huron-Kinloss has been charged with six counts of Uttering Counterfeit Money & 12 counts of Failing to Comply with a Probation Order. He remains in custody.
