(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On Saturday December 23, 2017 at approximately 4:30 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision on Eighth Line, Mapleton. It was reported that a red Dodge pickup had driven into a ditch.
OPP attended the crash and while speaking with the lone occupant, a male driver, officers formed the opinion that he was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing.
50-year-old Paul MARTIN of Drayton has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood and Impaired Driving contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to attend Guelph Court on January 19, 2018.
