Repeat Offender Arrested In Brussels

(HURON EAST, ON) – Residents observed an increased police presence in the Village of Brussels on Saturday, August 5^th while members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), and West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) dealt with an incident.

A portion of Turnberry Street was temporarily closed in order to maintain public and officer safety. At 2:46 p.m. one person was taken into custody as a result of the investigation.

Scott CLARKSON, 44 years of age from Huron East has been charged with the following offences:

–      Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose,

–      Uttering Threats – Damage or Injure Animal,

–      Imitation Firearm – Use while Committing Offence,

–      Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order.

The accused was brought before the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich and was remanded into custody.
