(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On April 5, 2018 at approximately 9:25 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 between 2nd and 4th Line, Township of Centre Wellington. The officer observed a female driving a grey sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on Laser in excess of 130 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by at least 50 km/h.
18-year-old Amanda GRAY of Centre Wellington has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 16, 2018. Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
