(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently on scene of a residential fire.
At approximately 7:11 a.m. the OPP was contacted in regards to a residential fire on Alvar Road, in the former Carden Township. Fire and ambulance are also on scene and the Fire Marshall has been contacted.
There were several persons in the home when the fire began. At this time two persons have died as a result of the fire and three injured parties have been transported to a local hospital.
