Head On Collision Sends One To Hospital – Cheryle HARRIS Charged With Drunk Driving, Careless Driving

(HURON EAST, ON) – A head on collision on Kippen Road resulted in one driver going to hospital and another to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. Just after 5:30 p.m. on November 11, 2013 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers and Huron County EMS responded to a two vehicle collision on Kippen Road.

Investigators determined an Oldsmobile Intrigue was travelling southbound on Kippen Road when it crossed the center line into the path of a northbound Grand Am. The driver of the Grand Am, a 27 year old female from Seaforth was transported to hospital and has been since released with minor injuries.

Officers spoke with the driver of the Oldsmobile Intrigue and determined she had been drinking alcohol. She was also displaying several signs of impairment. She was arrested at the scene for impaired driving and transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. She provided two samples of her breath; both were over the legal limit.

Cheryle HARRIS, 66, from Huron East has been charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Careless Driving. She has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on December 23, 2013. She received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and her motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
