(Douro Dummer Township, ON) – On Wednesday November 13, at approximately 8:45 p.m. members of the Peterborough County OPP were called to investigate a single motor vehicle collision that occurred on Television Road.
Upon attending the scene officers discovered that a vehicle had struck a hydro pole and knocked wires down. The driver had fled the scene leaving behind a passenger who had been injured in the collision.
A passenger was transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for Medical; care.
The Driver made no attempts to contact police or identify himself at the time of the accident.
Through investigation the driver of the motor vehicle has been identified as 19 year old Nick SABOURIN of Peterborough.
SABOURIN has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences in relation to the collision; Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Mischief Over $5000, Public Mischief, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
SABOURIN was released from custody, with a future court date of January 9, 2014 to appear in Peterborough Provincial Courts.
