The Microsoft computer scam is making the rounds in the Renfrew area once again. In this fraud, someone contacts you pretending to be from Microsoft advising they are aware of a problem with your computer and offering to fix it. They request you allow them to remotely access your computer, and provide them with your credit card information as there is a fee for their service. Microsoft has advised they do not contact consumers directly. Police recommend you never provide remote access to your computer unless you are certain you are dealing with a reputable business. If you have a problem with your computer deal with a known reputable company for repairs.
