Angel CORBIERE – Drunk Driving

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – On Thursday May 24, 2018, at approximately 11:24 p.m., members of the Manitoulin-Espanola Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the Sudbury-Manitoulin District Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands (NEMI) Fire Department responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Rockville Road, in the Town of NEMI, Ontario.

The driver and passenger were transported to hospital, by ambulance, with non-life threatening injuries. Investigation revealed that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages and was on a condition to abstain from doing so.

As a result, Angel CORBIERE, age 32, from M’Chigeeng First Nation, Ontario has been charged with:

Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) ;

Driving With Over 80 mg of Alcohol in Blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CC: and with

Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge, contrary to section 145(5.1) of the CC.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay, Ontario on July 17, 2018.
