(NAPANEE, ON)- On Sunday, November 17, 2013 an officer with the Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police patrolling westbound on 401 near Deseronto Road, stopped a blue 2009 Acura as the officer was unable to see the driver of the vehicle due to dark window tinting.
As a result of the traffic stop the officer seized 2118 grams of marihuana with an estimated street value of $21,180. The officer also seized $1,950 in cash.
The driver of the vehicle, 29 year-old Shantanu BARUA of North York and passenger, 23 year-old Tanmoy BARUA, of Concord, face charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Both are scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Napanee on January 21, 2014.
