(East-Hawkesbury, ON) On Friday November 15th 2013, shortly before 6 pm, Constable Luc Lecuyer intercepted a grey Dodge Caravan that was rolling erratically eastbound on Highway 417 approximately 2 km from the Quebec border.
Police had received a complaint from another motorist about the erratic driving of the vehicle a few minutes earlier.
Interaction with the driver during the traffic stop, gave grounds to the officer that the driver had his abilities impaired by alcohol.
John Charles DONNELY (66yrs) of Hudson, QC was arrested for driving his vehicle while having his abilities impaired.
He was brought to the Hawkesbury Detachment for further investigation.
The investigation resulted in the following Criminal Code of Canada accusations:
– Section 253 (1)(b) Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood
– Section 253 (1)(a) Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
– Section 249(1) Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at court in L’Orignal on December 4, 2013 at 9am.
