(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 20-year-old male with drinking and driving offences after investigating a traffic complaint at a Selkirk, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Sunday May 27, 2018 at 7:35 p.m., OPP responded to the area of Sandusk Road in Selkirk for a report of a traffic complaint.
Officers patrolled the area and located the vehicle on Kohler Road near Lakeshore Road where they spoke with the male driver and investigated.
While speaking with the driver, the officer detected signs of impairment and the driver was subsequently arrested.
During a search of the vehicle, a quantity of illicit drugs was located.
OPP has charged 20-year-old Ryan BURKE of Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ontario with:
Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
Operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood
Possession of a schedule I substance
His driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and his vehicle towed and impounded for seven (7) days.
He is to appear in Provincial Court Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
