On November 23, 2013, at 6:50 p.m., the Guelph Police attended to a three vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of College Avenue West and Edinburgh Road South involving a Guelph Police cruiser. It is alleged that a 2012 Toyota Tacoma truck was stopped facing westbound on College Avenue at a red light, when it was struck from behind by a police cruiser. Moments later the police cruiser was struck from behind by a 2009 Nissan Versa. The second collision caused the police cruiser to strike the Toyota Tacoma a second time.
The driver of the police cruiser sustained a minor injury as a result of the collision.
The involved vehicles sustained approximately $17,000 in damages. The collision is still under investigation.
