(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Saturday November 23, 2013, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Auxiliary officers conducted a food drive in Listowel.
Between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Seven Auxiliary OPP officers collected non-perishable food items and cash donations in the parking lots of the Food Basics, and Zehrs store in Listowel. With the gracious donations from shoppers, they were able to pack three cruisers and an OPP van full of food. In addition, shoppers donated over $1,000 in cash to be used to purchase food items.
All items were dropped off for distribution to the Listowel Salvation Army who will ensure that the donations will be distributed to needy families and individuals within the community. The Perth County OPP Auxiliary Unit wishes to thank the Listowel community for their support of this campaign.
