Gulamhusein MOLEDINA – 154 in a 100

(BRIGHTON, ON) – On Friday November 22, 2013 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 401 when a vehicle with a Quebec licence plate was stopped for a high rate of speed in the Municipality of Brighton.

The OPP officers were conducting stationary radar speed enforcement on Highway 401 in an emergency U-turn, monitoring both the east and westbound traffic. At approximately 9:50 pm the officer operating the radar observed a westbound 2013 Volkswagen Passat travelling at a 154 km/hour in the posted 100 km/hour zone.

The vehicle was stopped just east of County Road 30 and the officer conducted an investigation into speeding violation. There were four male occupants in the rented Passat.

Gulamhusein MOLEDINA, 29 from Lasalle, Quebec was issued a summons to appear in Provincial Offences Court on Thursday December 12, 2013 in Brighton, Ontario for race motor vehicle – excessive speed under the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was issued a seven day driver’s licence suspension and had the rental vehicle impounded for seven days. The four males were transported to a local business to make further travel arrangements.
