(BRIGHTON, ON)- On Sunday November 24, 2013 at approximately 3:46 am Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault on a male in the Municipality of Brighton. The male suspect had entered into a residence and assaulted the male victim then fleeing on foot from the area.
OPP officers patrolled the downtown core area of Brighton, Ontario after they received a report that a male had been assaulted at a Young Street residence and that the suspect had left the area on foot. The male victim had received minor non-life threatening injuries to his face after the male had gain access to the residence. The male suspect was located intoxicated on Division Street North but did not cooperate with OPP. He was arrested and held at Brighton OPP detachment as they conducted the assault investigation. It is unknown if the male victim attended to the hospital for medical attention.
Marty Wayne ROBERTSON, 37 from Carrying Place, Ontario had been charged with assault; obstruct peace officer, unlawfully in a dwelling house and forcible entry under the Criminal Code. The accused is being held for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday November 25, 2013 at 1:30 pm.
