(BRIGHTON, ON) – On Sunday November 24, 2013 at approximately 3:59 PM Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of jack knifed tractor trailer on County Road 30, just south of Highway 401 in the Municipality of Brighton.
A Northumberland OPP officer attended to the County Road 30 collision and found the truck and trailer on the east gravel shoulder facing northbound approximately 100 metres south of Highway 401. The officer entered into an investigation into the collision and condition of the driver who exhibited signs of intoxication.
The male was arrested by the officer and taken to Brighton OPP detachment for breath tests. Three of the four lanes at this location on County Road 30 were blocking traffic and a local heavy tow company was contacted for vehicle removal.
Trevor Dean ONISCHUK, 42 from Brantford, Ontario has been charged with care and control while impaired and care and control over 80 mgs under the Criminal Code. The accused was held for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday November 25, 2013 at 1:30 pm.
