(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – On November 27th, 2010, residents and motorists in Southern Bruce County experienced the first taste of what is forecast to be a long, snow packed winter season. The South Bruce OPP was called to 10 motor vehicle crashes during the storm, with minor injuries reported at 1 of the crashes. The South Bruce OPP is sending a reminder to motorists about winter driving safety:
o Consider 4 snow tires for improved traction
o Always reduce speed on snow packed or icy roads
o Snow / blowing snow affect visibility; slow down
o Leave extra time to get to your destination safely
o Pack a winter survival kit In case you get stuck or stranded
o Adjust your driving to the changing road and weather conditions
o Slow down, stay alert and stay in control
