(Township of Trent Lakes, On) – On Tuesday, November 26, 2012 at approximately 5:30 P.M. Officers from Peterborough County OPP, responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision on County Road 36.
The vehicle a Honda, Civic was travelling west when it collided with a moose that had run out onto the highway from the south ditch.
The motor vehicle was damaged beyond repair, with its roof being torn away from the body of the vehicle. The 22 year old female driver was injured and had to be taken to Peterborough Regional Hospital by Emergency Medical Services for non-life threatening injuries. The Moose was killed in the collision.
Motorists are advised to use extra care when travelling on area roads and highways between dusk and dawn due to the movement of wild animals.
