Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of May 22, 2018, to May 29, 2018 there were 114 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were five motor vehicle collisions, one was animal related.

There were four domestic dispute calls for service, and two domestics resulting in criminal code charges.

Domestic Charges

On Tuesday May 22, 2018 at approximately 11:16 pm, members of the Killaloe OPP detachment responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Golden Lake, Ontario. As a result of police investigation, a 29 yr. old female was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault and Domestic Mischief, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday June 13, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Domestic Assault

On Saturday May 26, 2018 at approximately 8:51 pm, members of the Killaloe OPP detachment responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 49 yr. old male from Bonnechere Valley Twp. as arrested and charged with Domestic Assault, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday June 13, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Collisions

On Wednesday May 23, 2018 at approximately 10:37 am, Constable Jon Thurston and Constable Chris Miller responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Lake Dore Road, North Algona Wilberforce Twp. The 64 yr. old female driver of a passenger car from Pembroke was charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The female was transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. The vehicle was towed.

On Thursday May 24, 2018 at approximately 2:36 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Mike Holbrook, and Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Larmond Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. The 60 yr. old male driver of a sport utility vehicle from Whitewater Twp. was charged with Suspended Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was towed. The defendant was issued a summons to appear in court.

On Monday May 28, 2018 at approximately 4:08 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Neil Gonzalez responded to a single vehicle rollover collision on Parcher Road, Madawaska Valley Twp. The 17 yr. old female driver of a passenger car from Bancroft was uninjured. The vehicle was towed. No charges laid.

Break and Enter

On Thursday May 24, 2018 at approximately 1:13 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Jon Thurston responded to a break and enter on Paradise Road, South Algonquin Twp. A residence under construction was entered and snowshoes, guitar and various archery items were stolen. This incident remains under investigation.

On Saturday May 26, 2018 at approximately 10:38 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Miller responded to a break and enter at a residence on Luty Lane, Bonnechere Valley Twp. Entry was gained via a patio door and the residence ransacked. Nothing was reported stolen. The OPP Scenes of Crimes Officer attended to process the scene for evidence. This incident remains under investigation.

Mischief to Women’s Sexual Assault Centre Monument

On Friday May 25, 2018 at approximately 12:11 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Kyle Fabian responded to a mischief to property at the Women’s Sexual Assault Centre Monument located at Centennial Park in Bonnechere Valley Twp. Damages were reported to the glass and stone work. This incident remains under investigation.

Traffic Stop Leads to Suspended Drive and Speeding Charges

On Sunday May 27, 2018 at approximately 7:06 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Miller conducted a traffic stop on Round Lake Road, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. The 36 yr. old male driver of a pickup truck from Pembroke was charged with Suspended Driving and Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The vehicle was towed. The defendant was issued a summons to appear in court.

Stunt Driving Charge

On Friday May 25, 2018 at approximately 9:01 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Steve Regan conducted a traffic stop for speeding on Round Lake Road, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. A motor vehicle was locked into the radar unit at a speed of 149 km per hour in an 80km hr. zone. The 25 yr. old female driver of a passenger car from Pembroke was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Performing a Stunt, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The licence was suspended and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.

Break and Enter Solved, Warrant for Arrest Sought

On June 16, 2015 Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Miller responded to a break and enter at a business on Evergreen Lane, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. Entry had been gained through a window and the business rummaged and ransacked. The OPP Scenes of Crimes Officer attended the scene and located evidence. The evidence located on scene was processed and a male suspect identified. Subsequent to investigation, the Killaloe OPP has issued a warrant for the arrest of 23 yr. old male from Lindsay for one count of Break and Enter, contrary to the Criminal Code.
