(HAGERSVILLE, ON) – A member of the Haldimand County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was involved in a minor collision on King Street West in Hagersville Ontario on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 just before 11:30 a.m.
The investigation revealed that the officer had begun to back up from a stopped position at a traffic light to allow a tractor-trailer to make a turn when he struck a vehicle directly behind his cruiser. There were no reported injuries to either driver and minor damage to the cruiser.
As a result of the investigation, Provincial Constable Ryan LEE, an eleven year member of the OPP, was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for the offence of Start from Stopped Position – Not In Safety contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
