PREPARE YOURSELF AND YOUR VEHICLE FOR SAFE WINTER DRIVING

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – Winter weather conditions can change quickly, placing extra demands on your vehicle and your driving skills. Plan your trip before starting out by checking the current weather and road conditions. Call 5-1-1 for up-to-date road conditions on Provincial Highways or 1-866-266-7569 for roads maintained by Grey and Bruce Counties.

Ensure your vehicle is equipped with proper winter tires and is fully serviced to avoid unnecessary breakdowns.

Carry a survival kit inside your vehicle. These items may include a shovel, blanket, warm clothes, food, booster cables, flashlight, high energy foods, matches and a candle. Also, carry a cell phone to contact emergency services should you experience trouble.

Adjust your driving habits to the current road and weather conditions, allowing extra time to travel to-and-from destinations. Leave extra space between vehicles, and avoid any sudden braking, accelerating or steering.

Remember – Be Alert – Don’t Get Hurt!
