Update: Barricaded Male In Custody

(FRENCHMAN’S HEAD, LAC SEUL FIRST NATION) – On Sunday, December 1, 2013 at approximately 12:41am (Central Standard Time) Lac Seul Police Service was notified of a domestic dispute which had occurred at a residence in the community of Frenchman’s Head. Members of the Lac Seul Police Service attended and subsequently requested the assistance of the Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and North West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) members.

Members of the OPP Sioux Lookout Detachment, ERT members, crisis negotiators, as well as members of the Forensic Identification Unit and North West Region Crime Unit attended the community of Frenchman’s Head.

At approximately 3:20pm (CST) the twenty-eight year old male occupant was arrested outside his residence by OPP ERT members without incident. He was subsequently taken into police custody by Lac Seul Police Service.

The roadblocks have been taken down within the community and residents that were evacuated have been allowed to return to their homes.
