Man Charged with Property Related Offences

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation.

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a family dispute on Park Avenue East in Chatham. At this time, police located a man walking away from his mother’s residence. Upon speaking to the man, officers learned that he was currently wanted on an outstanding warrant from Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) in regards to a theft of motor vehicle. Through investigation, police located the stolen 2002 Honda Civic in Chatham for which he had sold for $250.

The 21-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with uttering a forged document and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was released pending a future court date and turned over to NRPS.
