On November 30, 2013, at 7:51 p.m., the Guelph Police, Guelph Fire, GWEMS and University of Guelph Campus Police attended to a fire located in Dundas Hall, East Residence U of G. The fire was extinguished by GFD and the 21-year-old male resident was taken to Guelph hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The damage is estimated in the thousands.
On December 11, 2013, the 21-year-old male from Orangeville was charged with arson, disregard for human life. He will appear in court on January 24, 2014.
