(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) -On December 12, 2013, at approximately 9:26 p.m., officers from Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Wellington County Road 39, near Wellington County Road 30, Guelph-Eramosa Township. A female driver of a 2002 Dodge was spoken to and showed signs of alcohol consumption. A Roadside Screening Device test was administered which resulted in a fail.
Valerie URBAN age 52 of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 31, 2014 to answer to the charge.
Police would like to remind the public that both Wellington County Traffic Management Unit (TMU) and the Highway Safety Division will continue to deploy R.I.D.E. programs throughout the county during the festive season.
