Barrie Police responded to a call on Burton Avenue regarding a theft that had just occurred. The store clerk advised that a young man entered the store and selected a bottle of pop and some candy and exited the location without making any attempt to pay for the items. Investigating officer spoke with the store clerk and obtained description and details of the theft.
The 25 year old local man was arrested a short time after and was taken into custody. He was transported into the station and released with a future court date in January 2014. No one was injured during this incident.
