On December 14, 2013 at 4:04 a.m., the Guelph Police were called to attend the Staybridge Suites hotel on Corporate Court to investigate a robbery complaint. It is alleged that an employee was working alone at the front desk when he was confronted by a suspect armed with a weapon. This suspect demanded and received the hotel’s cash float. It is currently not known whether the suspect originated from within the hotel or entered the hotel from an insecure entrance. The employee was uninjured as a result of this incident.
