(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a two vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 7 near Slanted Road.
On December 13, 2013 at approximately 9:20 p.m. officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 7 within the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Initial investigation has indicated that two vehicles travelling east bound were involved in a collision. A Honda Pilot was rear ended by a Ford Escape causing the Ford to enter the ditch where it struck a tree. All five occupants in the Ford were transported to a local hospital. One of these persons was later transported to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries.
The Highway was closed for several hours as the Technical Collision Investigation unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
