FESTIVE R.I.D.E. CONTINUES

(North Bay, ON) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North Bay Detachment which includes Mattawa and Powassan are continuing their Festive R.I.D.E. (reduced impaired driving everywhere) spots checks into the New Year in all areas they police.

Officers from the North Bay Detachment cluster have charged two people for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, so far, in the month of December and 15 people during the month of November.

Drivers are reminded to operate their vehicles safely and, if planning to consume alcohol, make arrangements for a ride home, call a cab, stay over or use public transportation. Getting behind the wheel of a vehicle while impaired puts other’s lives at risk besides that of the driver. Driving while under the influence of alcohol is an unnecessary risk. Do your part to ensure a safe holiday season free of tragedy.

The Ontario Provincial Police wishes all Ontario residents a safe and happy holiday season. “We wish all our community members a safe and happy holiday season” states Detachment Commander, Irving Sloss.
